1. cut out fortune teller from page, and place face down

2. fold paper in half both ways, to establish center crease

3. fold all four corners to meet in center

4. flip over and place text side up

5. fold four resulting corners to meet in center

6. fold in half, keeping text to inside

7. slip thumb and forefinger of each hand under corner flaps

8. as inserted fingers expand paper, push corners to center

9. open and close, latitudinally and longitudinally

the fortune teller will either answer a question or provide its bounty of perspicacious insight

1. ask for a number from 1 to 10

2. alternately open and close fortune teller latitudinally and longitudinally for a total of that selected number of times 

3. ask for a number from 1 to 4

4. the selected number determines which of the particular interior numbered flaps, exposed by the final opening in the sequence, will reveal the fortune

5. questions are answered in the upper half of each opened flap, and the insight is separately provided in each lower half
